This spring we are proudly releasing our first Wintermist seedlings. First cab off the rank is Wintermist Lucy Rose, named after my flower farming daughter Lucy Rose Flowers, who inspired my flower farming journey and is my shoulder to cry on when the bush rats eat my ranunculus or the Snappies get rust!
This bloom was a winner from the start and we have been growing and assessing her for 4 years. A small to medium flower, first flowers are a medium, and with a better fertiliser program would probably stay that way! She flowers non stop and holds her centres to the bitter end of autumn, so much so it’s hard to get any seeds! She has great stems, head angle and attachment, and the acid test for me is that she is the first one I pick for bouquets, a reliable bloom that despite being a gorgeous Smokey pink also blends perfectly with sunsetty colours, I love her deep purpley centre that really sets her apart. Wintermist Lucy Rose will be available early October.
